Prior to leaving with a team of six Higher Grounders on a mission to Honduras, the organizer of the trip called a meeting with me to ask one simple question, "Of the six people on your team, how many are capable to minister?". My answer was, "All of them". He said, "No, I mean how many could we take and drop off into a strange church and have them lead an entire church service?" "All of them", I said. He was amazed. A couple weeks later, we landed in Honduras. My wife and I were brought with a translator to a church we had never been to. At the same time, in separate vans, Pastors Steven & Connie and Kevin & Leslie were brought with translators to churches they had never been to in remote parts of this foreign land. Each church service was anointed and blessed. There were many salvations. Prophetic words and deliverance came to all three congregations at the same time. One pastor wept out loud and confessed his sins. This is the call of Higher Ground Ministries ... "Outreach and the training of outreach ministers". It's a God thing, not a man thing. Two Mondays ago, we brought a team into Putnam Prison. 102 prisoners attended the meeting. 40 inmates flooded the altar to sincerely receive Jesus. Many were in tears. After the meeting, James Leggett (one of our team) said about one of the inmates at the altar in tears, "that man used to be a hellion. We once had a fight. I beat him up and he came back and held a 30/30 rifle on me and threatened to kill me. Today he's at the altar in tears receiving Jesus". It's a God thing. Sept.15, 2011, marked the 12th anniversary of Higher Ground Ministries. Although the start and curriculum of the Higher Ground School of Ministry (HGSM) was downloaded in prayer in less than 5 minutes, it has been in development for 12 years. Don't miss it. |
