December 2010 Outreach Updates

December 3: Christ Community Church – New Smyrna Beach, FL :: Communion and ministry in prayer and God’s word to 120 people. Many received personal prayer ministry.

December 4: Tomoka Prison – Main Unit – Daytona Beach, FL :: Approx. 50 prisoners attended a special service. Testimonies & God’s word shared. 5 inmates were saved. Many rededicated.

December 5: Truck Stop Ministry – St. Augustine, FL :: Larry Hepler preached the Good News and prayed with 8 truckers from all over the country. All were touched by God’s grace.

December 9: Tomoka Work Camp РDaytona Beach, FL :: 18 prisoners attended. The Gospel was proclaimed.  One inmate was saved and 3 prisoners rededicated their life to the Lord.

December 11: Fan the Fire Men’s Meeting – DeLand, FL :: More than 60 men from many different churches gathered for an awesome time of worship, lunch and fellowship. The Gospel was proclaimed and more than a dozen men rededicated their life to a first love relationship with Jesus.

December 11: Carpenter’s Children’s Home – Leesburg, FL :: Approx. 75 people came together for fellowship and a special Christmas Celebration. Pastor Connie danced; Elicia & Gina Brissey ministered in song. Pastor Jim preached and several came forward for special prayer. Higher Ground brought Christmas gifts for each of the 17 children.

December 16: Bonkerz for Jesus II @ Bonkerz Comedy Club – DeLand, FL :: Approx. 70 folks came out for a night of comedy, worship and prayer. There were several funny skits & videos (including the Apostle Jimmie Gimmie and the Apostle Mini Jimmie Gimmie); Pastor Jim did stand-up comedy. Steve & Shannon Gardner led in worship. Pastor Jean ministered the word and several received special prayer.

December 19: The Lighthouse Church – DeLeon Springs, FL :: The Apostle Jimmie Gimmie brought his unique message to more than 120. Pastor Jim did stand-up comedy, followed by a Gospel message. 5 rededicated their life to the Lord.

December 20: Alliance Retirement Home – DeLand, FL :: Pastor Connie led a team from Higher Ground to bring 29 sweaters, special music and lots of hugs from the HGM kids to the seniors.

December 24: Putnam Prison Doubleheader – East Palatka, FL :: Team from Higher Ground brought Giant Slim Jims, gourmet coffee & danishes, stamped-blank Christmas cards and copies of the book, “Set Free”. We had special music from Hope Street, testimonies and a Gospel message. 330 prisoners attended the two services, 77 inmates came forward and invited Jesus into their hearts, 20+ prisoners stood and rededicated their life to the Lord.

December 27-31: Honduras Mission – San Pedro Sula, Honduras :: A team of 5 from Higher Ground joined 9 outreach ministers from our church plant in Honduras to spearhead 6 outreaches. Several hundred pounds of rice & beans, hot dogs, clothing and hundreds of pairs of shoes were distributed. We held outdoor outreaches in Chaloma & El Bordo as well as 4 meetings in Central Prison in San Pedro Sula. 165 people prayed to invite Jesus into their hearts. Many rededicated, were touched and set free.

December 3, 17 & 31: Celebrate Recovery – Cocoa, FL :: Pastor Gary Stafford ministered to more than a dozen folks in recovery in each meeting with God’s word and prayer. Many were touched.
